I already have an appointment. Do I still need to pay?

Prepaying now helps confirm your spot and makes check-in much faster and smoother. While it's not required, we’re updating our system to make the process easier for everyone.

What if I don’t pay — will I lose my appointment?

No, we’re not canceling existing appointments if you don’t pay. However, prepayment secures your time and helps us avoid no-shows, so your appointment isn’t at risk of being bumped or delayed.

Can I reschedule or change my appointment?

Yes — simply use the link to make a change, and prepay to hold your new spot. Prepayment allows us to keep the schedule accurate and fair for everyone.

Why are you charging upfront now?

We’ve implemented prepayment to reduce no-shows, keep appointments running smoothly, and help ensure fair access for all patients. It also simplifies and speeds up your time in the visit.

What happens if I miss my appointment?

Missed appointments may result in a $30 rescheduling fee, unless you contact us ahead of time. Prepaying helps us protect your slot and respect everyone’s time.

When should I schedule my next doctor appointment?

You need to be re-evaluated by a doctor every 210 days (about 7 months). Look at your medical marijuana card’s issue date and schedule an appointment 7 months from that date — or earlier to stay ahead.

What if I just need to increase or adjust my dosage?

Any changes to your dosage or recommendation still require a visit with the doctor. To make adjustments, simply book a standard certification appointment. The doctor will review your medical history and current needs to make the appropriate changes during your visit.

How much does it cost?

The standard renewal, consultation or modification visit with the doctor is $100, due at the time of booking. We have not raised this price, even with inflation, because we’re committed to keeping access to medical marijuana care affordable and consistent for our patients.

The state of Florida also charges $75/year for the ID card renewal — this is a separate fee paid directly to the state.

What about the state’s renewal requirement?

Florida law requires you to renew your state medical marijuana ID card once a year, directly through the OMMU (Office of Medical Marijuana Use).

Is my doctor appointment the same as my state renewal?

No — these are two separate requirements:

  • Doctor visit: every 7 months (for recertification)

  • State renewal: once every 12 months (to keep your ID card active)

You must complete both to stay fully compliant.

Reminder: Renew Your Medical Marijuana State Certification

Florida requires patients to renew their State ID card once every year, and your doctor’s certification every 7 months.
Since expiration dates vary by patient, you’ll need to log in to the state portal to check your current card status and renewal eligibility.

Don’t wait — expired cards mean you won’t be able to purchase your medication. This quick guide will show you exactly how to renew your ID card online.

IMPORTANT: RENEWALS DO NOT REQUIRE YOU TO SUBMIT A NEW PHOTO. DO NOT SUBMIT A NEW ID PICTURE, IT WILL ONLY DELAY YOUR RECERTIFICATION (JUST CLICK THE “CHECK STATE ID” OPTION).
